Welcome to #ClearTheAir!

We are a group of educators who believe that community, learning, and dialogue are essential to our personal and professional development.

To support these practices, we meet throughout the year to discuss titles and interview authors who stretch our analysis and our ability to take action. Most importantly, we commit to living our values out loud and holding each other lovingly accountable.

Founded in 2016, #ClearTheAir has evolved along with the massive social and political shifts we’ve all experienced. Community has been–and remains–a key factor in our ability to be responsive to our students during this trying period.

More than ever, we need like-minded educators to join the conversation.

What Our Community Is Saying

“This community is supportive beyond measure, yet folx do not shy away from challenging one another, holding each other accountable, or pushing one another into discomfort, and I love and appreciate that. #ClearTheAir … has had a profound and transformative impact on me as a learner and human.”

“The learning is amazing and the books are incredible and the questions blow my mind...but the community that shows up in so many ways—texts, zooms, group texts, cards, surprise gifts, hugs when we are allowed to see each other—that is something that doesn't exist in most spaces. #ClearTheAir has made internet friends into real life, for real for real friends.”

“Community is everything! Anti-racist teaching and equity work is hard and #ClearTheAir helps me to keep going in this work as I get pushback from other teachers and the district office. Being apart of the community helps me think through issues and I’m not alone.”
